The definition and origin of color management
first, the definition of color management whether fatigue performance meets the requirements of train operation has become a 10 point concern of the railway transportation management department
color is a kind of visual nerve stimulation, and its production is due to the response of visual nerve to light. Without light or visual nerve, there is no color (don't think that light is equal to color)
the following figure shows the reaction of humans and some animals to light. Jinan assays always pay attention to the dynamics of the experimental machine:
in 1931, CIE (Commission Internationale de i`eclairage) published the ciexyy color gamut map, which represents the visible color range of humans (see Figure 2). Later, CIE published new color models in 1964, namely CIE LAB and CIE luv, which have the same color range as CIE XYY, but different shapes and expressions. CIE LAB is mostly used for color management system
II. The origin of color management
1. The traditional Jinan test Jinzhi reverse upward rotation energy tensile testing machine is applicable to plastic film, composite film, soft packaging materials, adhesives, adhesive tapes, self-adhesive, rubber, paper, aluminum plastic plate and other products for tensile tests, elongation at break, peel strength, right angle tear, heat sealing strength, adhesive strength, puncture resistance test, low-speed unwinding force Color management of performance tests such as peel off force
-- Prepress --
color electronic prepress systems/CEPS in the 1970s and 1980s have functions such as graphics and text, typesetting and color control, but each prepress system is incompatible with each other and has different expression of color. If a file is output in different prepress systems, it is likely to produce different results. As shown in Figure 3, the old management method is complex, such as six unique color conversion procedures
-- printing --
printers mainly control color according to paper whiteness (white point), ink color and dot increase. If there is no appropriate management method, each production will be different. (Note: color management system is mainly computer software, which uses a certain color model and determines how to translate colors.)
2. Modern color management
-- prepress and printing industry --
from the mid-1980s to now, computers and software have developed rapidly, and digital output printing plate and digital printing have appeared successively. Figure 4: modern color management method (open design), which makes color management more efficient
in addition to mechanical and synthetic circuits, the output color of these devices is greatly affected by their internal color management. The initial new color management products are incompatible with each other. Because these new digital products are gradually popularized, developers and users begin to understand the importance of compatibility
in 1993, the international colorconsortium/ICC, which was formed by eight major computer and electronic image developers, aimed to solve the problem of color management compatibility between new products. ICC decided that color management should be built within the computer operating system and use "ICC profile" for color conversion. If any input or output device supports this format, Accurate color conversion can be made between them. As shown in Figure 4, taking the operating system supporting ICC as the color management center, each device only needs an ICC profile, and the system can manage colors concisely. Today, ICC has more than 50 famous companies joined as members, and ICC profile also has a lot of new product support. It can be said that it has become an industrial standard
